The Awards | 2014 Winners
The National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) is an annual survey of students in higher education across the UK conducted by independent experts, Red Brick Research. The survey measures satisfaction levels in all types of accommodation and allows participating institutions to measure their performance against national and regional benchmarks. The 2014 survey attracted around 19,000 responses from more than 200 universities and colleges across the UK.
Best University Halls
Awarded to the institution demonstrating the highest levels of student satisfaction amongst residents.

Awarded to the private halls provider achieving the highest levels of satisfaction amongst residents.

Best Customer Service
Awarded to the university or private hall provider achieving the highest levels of customer service.

Best Value For Money
Awarded to the university or private hall provider achieving the highest value-for-money scores.

Best Learning Environment
Awarded to the organisation providing accommodation which best enhances the learning experience.

Best Individual Accommodation
Awarded to the specific university or private hall achieving the highest satisfaction levels amongst residents

Best Student Broadband
Awarded jointly to the owner of the accommodation and the supplier of the broadband service with the highest satisfaction rating.

Best Booking Experience
Awarded to the university or private hall provider achieving the highest overall rating for the booking process.
Also shortlisted: Guy Chester Centre and Lancaster University
Best Moving In Experience
Awarded to the university or private hall provider achieving the highest ratings for various aspects of the arrivals experience.
Also shortlisted: Goodenough College and Lancaster University
Best Environmental Management
Awarded to the university or private hall provider providing the best recycling and environmental facilities.
Also shortlisted: University of the West of England and Lancaster University
To help organisations demonstrate their accommodation standards to international students, the International Accommodation Quality Mark was introduced in 2011. The mark is awarded to organisations who achieve at least a 90% positive satisfaction rating from international students. It is licensed for 1 year from the award date for promotional use in print and digital media.
